Founded in 1958, the C.I.S.A. Andrea Palladio is a
research institute
devoted to
the history of architecture.
The Centre’s activities are guided by a scientific advisory committee
that unites the most prominent European and North American specialists.
Courses, seminars, publications, and exhibitions are devoted not only to
Palladio but also to architecture
from antiquity
to the twentieth century and to the problems of
conservation
and the
restoration of historical and contemporary buildings.
In addition, the Centre makes available to the public a
library,
photographic library, and a specialised
archive,
and is active in the area of the application of computer technologies to
the Cultural Heritage with the production of cd roms and data banks.
